Help me Identify this engine - 2nd gen 13b

4 Attachment(s)
I am trying to accurately identify this engine we are putting in a first gen RX-7 for Lemons racing. We 'think' it is an 86 13b but we are not sure. Can anyone verify or help me to verify just what we have so we can order parts?

Thanks

Matt

It's a Series 4 engine (86-88).
The only thing that you should be "concerned about' is if it is an 87.5-88 engine as they have a slightly different harness where the Resistor pack on the Chassis (of the 86-87.5 year car) would not be used.
The injectors of the 87-88 are HI impedance.
The 86-87.5 has a big ass connector that goes to the Injector resistor pack at the front passenger location of the car(under stock air box near headlight.) to compensate for the resistance of the injectors.
The ECU however, whether it be an N326 or 327 like to see HI impedance so you need not worry about running either one if the Year of harness is in question.Either one will work, regardless of harness, injector setup..as long as the harness and injectors are meant for each other.
I hope you can understand what I just typed..lol!

By the way you can see the Injector part #'s in the FAQ sticky in this section.
The LO impedance injectors are center notch connector and the HI impedance injector has a Offset connection.

I will do some further investigation using your info.

Thanks!
