help with 86 n/a rx7 losing power

Ill try to be as descriptive as possible with this, a few weekends ago i took a perfectly working 13b and swapped it into my fc that had a blown coolant seal. As far i could tell i swapped every thing properly, i got the engine running fine it idles right were it should. I problem is when i try to accelerate quickly the car sputter if that makes any since . it will rev then sputter then rev a lil bit more and sputter again. this only happens when i try to accelerate quickly. if i give it gas slowly while in neutral it will go all the way to redline with out any problems, i have tried everything that i can think of. timing, tps, bac valve, acv, checked for grounds and all my connections and vacuum lines.

Let me guess, this happens at around 3500 RPM?

This can be caused by poor grounds, or stuck 5/6 ports.

i have a similar problem but only happens before it hits normal operating temps. would like to know what it is

1. Check for trouble codes. Google 'check RX7 86 88 trouble codes'
2. Check for closed loop operation. Seach this forum for my posts on 'green lamp check'
3. Disconnect the TPS and see if it runs any better without it.
4. Disconnect the TPS and check for proper resistance (see FSM) and no dropouts through its range
5. Set idle, idle mixture, and adjust the TPS.
6. Check the air meter.

if none of that gets it...
7. Check fuel pressure per FSM procedure: at idle, under heavy throttle, static pressure (no flow), and leakdown. Fuel pressure test set at Harbor Freight, $18
8. Pull up the right hand carpet; get access to the ECU. Backprobe each pin on the three connectors with a voltmeter. Check each voltage with the ignition on but not running, then do it again with the car idling. compare the values against the table in the online FSM. A bad sensor or wire will show up as a voltage well out of the normal ranges published in the manual.

^ Do a compression test. Be sure you are doing it the right way.
