well im in a ton of trouble lol i bought my dream car for 500 bucks its a 1988 turbo 2 and its been sitting for close to 10 years i tried to turn it over and it was very slow to turn i also figured out the fuel pump wasnt working so i bought a new one and im draining the tank still unsure where else to go with it i am looking for some parts i need a full set of S5 moldings and the 2 turn signals that go in the bumper from an S5 and a set of GP side skirts and rear bumper

You can get almost all the parts you need at the Mazda dealer. Make sure you have a workable drivetrain before you spend money on cosmetic items. A car that has sat for 10 years will need major mechanical work.

im not in the same bind but i am the guy before me started an n/a to turbo II swap without the motor
so im trying to find a manual on the proper removal and re-install of the motor along with where to find the motor and all that jazz

Yeah, definitely give it a mechanical work over before worrying about turn signals and side skirts. A car that runs good is a lot better than a car that looks good. And if it's been sitting for 10 years, other stuff is going to break, just when you thought everything else was fixed.

yeah it just breaks my heart to know that the numb nut before me let the poor car sit for 10 years so far i have changed the fuel pump out the MAF and im working on the brake master cyl and putting the stock air box back in alog with the body damage and the lack of tires and the rims needing to be re-powdercoated and i havent been able to find a replacement air pump i think the pully or the shaft is bent and i need to get it ready for paint my buddy is gonna paint it for me for nothing as long as the prep is spot on
im looking at alot of time that i rally dont have i need this car running and ready for a 2500 mile road trip by mid to late march i dont know what to do lol

the gas tank needs a good cleaning or 2 be replaced also cheak the compression. i would say 75psi atleast thats kinda low but sitting that long it might build some back after it has been run. my 1st fc i owned sat for 11 years and the gas tank was 2 far gone 2 use. compression was around 80 psi but after i drove it for 1000miles its up 2 110psi.

looking into the tank the fuel is bad but there isnt any rust or debris in there and the fuel pump all the plastic and rubber had melted down but i have replaced it

The Factory Service Manual can be found in the FAQ For FC thread. It contains all this information and more, and is an essential tool for any sort of service work that needs to be performed on these cars.

Additionally, the Haynes service manual for the 1986 thru 1991 RX-7 (both turbo and NA) can be found at most local auto parts stores or purchased from any good bookstore (ISBN number 1 56392 007 7). It is only about $25 and is a great quick reference for things like this. Not only does it contain most of the information in the FSM condensed into an easy to read format, but it includes full wiring diagrams as well.

These manuals will answer 99% of service related questions for the car and if you intend to do your own repair work, you will need at least one of them. Preferably both, since the FSM is a free download.
