Hello from CA 81 Mazda RX7 Value?
Hello,
I am the original owner of my Mazda Rx7 (my baby) I had someone come by to ask me what I would sell it for. I'm not sure what these are worth? 1981 Mazda RX-7 GS Hatchback 129k original miles Black I had a car appraiser tell me the value would be between $2-4K $1,500 if the car needed a lot of work I appreciate any ideas or suggestions Thank You! Pics would help. If the body is perfect, the paint great, the interior perfect and it runs like a champ with no smoke 2 minutes after starting it up, then $4k is possible.
If it's rough, won't pass inspection, paint is beat up and there is a dent anywhere...$500, I kid you not. The engine is the biggest factor to consider when buying these cars. Easy, highway 129k miles is still more than half of the engine life used up. Hard 129k life means engine is on its last legs and you're buying the body. And FB RX-7 bodies in great shape are generally $600 to $800 cars. Mario III |

You're looking for educated assessments of the car's worth, so no. Tech is fine. There's really no board for this kind of stuff because RX-7 Club isn't generally an online classifeds website. It's a secondary service offered to the members but not the primary reason for the website. Hence, all the hoops and hurdles you see in the rules to discourage people from joining simply because they want to unload their rotary parts or cars. ;)
