Hello from Alabama, what the heck did I buy??

I had recently just purchased a 1990 RX7. It had its issues for starting up. Hardly ever would start up on the first try, but sometimes it would. Most recently I had left it running while I went inside to get something and come right back out, the shifter was stuck in park and then it just cut off on me. Wouldn't start back up. Let it sit over night. Still wouldn't start. That usually worked, just letting it rest. Came back the next day, still wouldn't start, so I just called road side assistance and got it towed to a body shop that said they could work on it. So they took a look at it and said that the motor was a junkyard motor from another car and that a bunch of the wires were all crossed up going to wrong places and plugs weren't plugged in the right places and I was running on straight gas. They said they have it running now but they still are looking for a fuel filter or something. I should find out everything tomorrow.

I've heard how easy it is to flood rotary from a buddy of mine who's a mechanic at Mazda, but I didn't think it was this easy. Thank good for the fuel pump fuse
