Hard to start and stalls
I'm having some troubles with my engine. It's a S5 NA engine and mild ported.
BAC valve is still on and I recently cleaned it and the Air Flow Meter Problem 1: The engine is hard to start even after it is warmed up Problem 2: The engine will idle great after warming it up but if I Rev the engine it will die out including shifting it back to netrual. It is embarrassing to be a stop light and cranking the engine. Please give me some tips |
Look in the FSM in the fuel and emissions section where it will list the ECU pinouts. Look at the reading for the clutch switch and see if yours reads what it is supposed to. There is also a device on the rear of the throttle body which has a small white plastic rod protruding from it. It is supposed to prevent the throttle plates from closing too fast upon deceleration and yours might not be set properly.
Also, what is the idle speed once the car is fully warmed? And you might want to check the compression of the engine as well. And hard starting cars can be a function of the engine being flooded from leaking injectors. |

The idle speed usually sits between 800-1000 rpm |

I'll check out all of those parts and the compression of the engine.
