Gold Heat Thermal Racing Engine Tape

I have a couple of OMC Rotary Engines, i have pulled one of them apart and this one will need a full rebuild. The the Stator has two charge coils with cracks in them, they will be replace with new ones, i read that these charge coils. saying the heat was hard on the charge coils, so was thinking to use some Gold Heat Thermal Racing Engine Tape. Has anyone use this gold tape?

If you referring to the ignition coils I think the more common approach is to re-locate them out from under the intake manifold. Haven’t looked but I think there are aftermarket brackets available to aid that....or you could make your own. Here’s a link that might help....

Hi Sgtblue,
These engines are out of the Evinrude Snowmobile. I can not post any photos of the dismantled engine as yet. and i can not relocate them.

Build a plate that blocks the heat from the motor if relocating is not an option. Use whatever pattern the coil uses to bolt the cover plate too.

The coils are in a very tight spot, so can not fit a plate there unfortunately

Can you direct airflow in there? the wrap or reflective tape will help a little bit for the first minutes before heat soak, but a heat shield with an air gap and a bit of flow is better.

There is a steel plate behind the coils, i think it maybe a heat shield and the engine is air cooled so maybe i can place a thermal heat shield there ?
