Fuel Pump Wiring BROKEN
Hey guys and gals, I took out some of the interior wiring in my car because I was prepping to paint the interior, and I noticed a wire going directly from the battery all the back splicing into a blue wire that plugs into the fuel pump. Can anyone tell me what's going on? and can anyone tell me how to fix this back to stock? I know something is screwed up, so all I need help with is knowing how to fix it. THANKS!!

Welcome to the board. :)
I'm not sure why that would be. Maybe someone was trying to jump the pump at some point or perhaps bypassed some other issue further up in the circuit? Remove it and see what happens. |
It could be that someone was also trying to supply a more solid 12V to the fuel pump. This is common in higher hp cars to ensure the pump voltage doesn't drop. Generally you do this with a relay though to be safe. Running 12V directly to the fuel pump with no relay is definitely not safe so it's good you caught it.

Its definitely to make sure the pump is getting full battery voltage like BuiltRB25 said i have a similar set up in my car but with a relay, you should be able to remove the wire with no issues unless the original power wire has a issue
