Fuel pump rewire
2 Attachment(s)
I need a little help on a fuel pump rewire. I know this topic has been covered several times. I found the information. I just need a little clarification. Is this the resistor and why do I only have 5 wires? According to the info I have found the resistor is located in the rf of the engine bay under the air box and that's where this is.

What car are you trying to do this to???.
That connector looks like the injector resistor pack connector. |
It's an 86 base car swapped to turbo
|
If its an 86 NON turbo you do not have to rewire the Fuel system as the Turbo cars had the resistor and the NON turbo's did not have it.
|
Yes it started life as a non turbo car. If it had the resistor where would it be located?
Also I've read a little about high and low impedance injectors in these cars. I swapped an s4 turbo motor into it. Would those injectors require the resistor? I think the donor engine came with a resistor so I left it in place. |
Depends on whether the car was a mid 87 or 88 as they had a different impedance (earlier models were different). The resistor box would be located by the passenger fender near the air box. And if the car had a resistor box then one of the two wires at each injector would be Brown as opposed to Light Green.

Where does the fuel pump resistor mount?

like tryin to pull teeth here.
Do you know the year of engine and can you get part #'s for the Injectors and Turbo ECU? The Ecu likes to see HI impedance so the N332 or 333 units are what is usually on a S4 TII. Are you using the N/A Engine harness or the Turbo engine harness? |
