Fuel pressure loss

Hello everyone.

I got myself an Mazda Rx8 a couple of months back. I know this is the rx7 forum but the reason for me posting here is that it had a engine swap.
The current engine is of a rx7 and is peripheral port. It has a 51 Ida carb on it. The car runs really nice and all but i have a small problem. If i drive it and accelerate hard from 1st gear it goes fine up until the end of 3rd gear then it starts to surge. I hooked up a pressure gauge to the fuel reg. and the fuel pressure seems fine at normal operating conditions. It is more or less 32Kpa or 4.5Psi. But it shows that my pressure is dipping if i keep the throttle open for a while. Can this cause the surge? And what may the problem be.
Thanks

welcome to the board. :)

what setup are you running? which pump? which regulator? etc.

Thanks:)

Well atm the setup in the carb is as follows.
Main Jet 230
Air Corrector/ Air jet 120
Emulsion tube F16
Don't know the float level and venturi size but think the venturi is a 46mm or 48mm
The car idle's and drive normal until u accelerate for about +- 15secs non stop
For example if u gear from 6th to 4th to overtake. At first it seems fine until it surges. Then if u leave the gas for a short while everything is fine again.

The whole setup is still running from the rx8's computer.
Fuel pump is the standard Rx8 pump and the fuel reg. looks like the normal round one. Doesn't have a name on it.
Thanks for the help
