Front Brakes or something grinding while turning only.

So I just finished up the 5 lug 4 pot swap on my 87 fc base and when I took it for a drive everything seemed good until I started to turn. There is a loud nasty grinding noise coming from both sides I think, definitely from the passenger side. There is also a nice gouge all the way around on the back of the passenger rotor but when I looked I couldon't see anything hitting. I've searched for hours and found nothing and a couple fc guys I know are telling me it's either the tie rod ends or the caliper bolts being in the wrong spot? I'm confused as hell and just want to drive it. Lol. Any help is appreciated.

Could be anything from bad wheel bearings to a longer bolt being used on the brake assembly when you swapped the five lug stuff over.
Don't drive it if it grinding..Fix it.
Your rotor should be able to tell you where to start if it is marked up.

Just went and looked at it ( kind of hard on the ground ) just by feeling the groove in the rotor it seems like a longer bolt and the outer tie rod end could be it.... I'll have to get it in the air to really see it. I'll check it out b in the morning and update with what I find. Thanks for the reply.

No way in hell it could be the tie rod end.
..and no way in hell you can look at it without taking the wheel off and getting up close and personal.

You are playing with your life here(to put it bluntly) so take the time to find out what is going on.
If that lets go you are gone..maybe some else too.

Could also be the brake shield. They tend to bend and you can bend them back so they don't rub.(sometimes they just are not there...eaten off by corrosion)

I've done so many 5 lug swaps I can do them in my sleep so take it from me,I'm tryin to help ya out...sort of "steer ya" in the right direction...chuckle!
So give "yourself a brake"..heh..and take stuff apart and inspect it!

Fixed it. I'm an idiot, needed on more washer on the caliper bolts, everything's ok now. Thanks for bearing with me while I found my brain fart moment. Lol

aah Hah!..so it was a longer bolt on the brakes!
I only noted that when I swapped and had both sets in my sights..
