A few questions from the new guy...

I just purchased a '93 touring edition. Runs great, interior and exterior are perfect, but need to figure out some things about the gauge cluster and the turbos.
First, the tachometer doesn't work at all, and I'd like it to.
Second, the odometer doesn't show anything, as in no lights. The guy I bought it from assured me that it started flickering a couple months ago, so he thinks it's the back-light. Can I fix the light, or if I replace it, will I lose the mileage?
Third, it seems to me that the speedo is a bit slow. Maybe 5-10 mph.

My last question is that, when I throttle hard in 4th (auto tranny) usually around 70, the turbos spool up well, but then it's almost like a fuel limiter kicks in. There's a mechanical sound, then she slows down. It only does this in 4th. Any ideas about any of these?

not too sure, but I believe that if you replace the backlight, you won't lose the mileage.

now it's in Klingon

Now my odometer looks like Klingon. The backlight's working fine, now, but it's only displaing gibberish.

I don't have any magic ideas about the speedo, except to take out the meter hood and look for loose connections. (BE CAREFUL REMOVING THE METER HOOD - it's brittle and you can't really get a replacement!!)

Speedo reading - what size tires and rims are on the car? Stock is 225/50 R16 which is about 24.9" overall diameter IIRC. Being off 5mph is considered normal in any case.

The power cut - does the car have 100% stock intake and exhaust? If not, detail exactly what it has installed.

Well, I think the power cut has to do with a blown apex seal I found (compression test). I think it may have leaked under a lot of pressure, but now that its blown through, I get none. Gonna have to rebuild. Oh well...
