CA Fd3s Knightsports intake modify or not?

v-mount
Knight Sports Air Groove Intake for V Mount
Stock
Knight Sports Air Groove Intake for Rx7

These cost around $750 shipped. Probably 550-650 on the classifieds.
I have been researching to see what the best intake setup I would like and it came down to the knightsports intakes and the m2 airbox.
The knightsports (stock) that is similar to the autoexe intake are out of the question because it leaves no room for bigger smic or vmount in the future besides the knightsports u intercooler.

The v-mount version is a beauty with the added carbon fiber.
(Through looking at limited google images) The vmount is nice and compact, more so than the m2 and also has a k&n like filter.
Only problem is the duct moves down left towards the radiator and forward.
With a Vmount setup it is no issue but stock will have implications(radiator).
Good news is the duct part looks to be riveted in place.
If there is room, I will be able to make my own duct similar to the m2 where it sucks in air from the side of the radiator and that would be wonderful.
If there is little to no room, I may have to cut existing parts of it and continue from there, making it permanent.
This leads me to my questions.
Should I modify it if it were to not give enough room? Or should I resell this masterpiece and move on to other intake options?

I already had a m2 carbonfiber airbox. It is not as well made as people say it is. It is poorly glued together and does not have a good seal because of the pieces are misaligned (needed further work to get it decent unless I got the runt of the litter).
HKS and greddy are foam...
Apexi is just gonna suck in hot air and break the air pump.

Knightsports has a nice compact stockish look and is probably one of the best cold air intakes out there for rx7s.

What intercooler are you using/anticipating? I think I would start there. Those look really nice. But a lot of money for something you’ll just have to alter.
The M2 CF is pretty too but I’ve heard similar complaints about being fragile. They also made an aluminum version. Not as sexy but just as functional IMO.
