FD widebody track build- offset

Hello all,
first of all,I have found and read a majority of the 'maximum wheel width/offset' thread, and I've not been able to find an answer,in addition to that the forum won't let me post a reply for some reason....
im hoping someone may be able to help me here,or atleast offer some insight

I'll keep it as short as possible, im currently building a series 8 track car, it is not a dual use car, it is purely track only
i purchased it as a half finished project, it appears to have FEED rear fenders and unknown fronts but they are wide.
I am planning on running 295/30/18 front and rear so I know ill be needing 10.5-11 inch wide wheels ideally.
I recently borrowed a set of 18x10.5 +15 from a mate to give me some sort of idea of what I'll be needing width and offset wise
sadly the car was on stands and couldn't be dropped at the time so im fully aware that would in no way be able to accurately measure anything without it aitting on the ground. However...the 10.5+15 with 265/35 looked tiny,as in easily 5-6 inches before sitting flush with the guards on the back, the fronts lightly scrubbed under the headlights, but I believe once I dial in my 3+ degrees of neg camber I'll be fine. What im hoping to find out is...has anyone run 295/30 front and back on an FD with a widebody and what width/offset combination was used. ANY help is greatly appreciated!!!

Hey mate, your build sounds exactly like mine. I can't give you any on track experience yet but I'm going through the same process at the moment. I've bought 18x10.5+15 WEDS wheels with 295/30/18 Hankooks all round. There's plenty of room on the rear with the FEED over fenders (I think I'll need to run 15-20mm spacers to fill the guards) but the front is pretty tight. I only did a rough visual wheel alignment but I was pretty close underside of the wheel well at full lock and collecting the front pretty well. So out came the grinder.

Before

After (I've actually trimmed a little more since)

So you can't post outside of the new members area until you have 10 posts.

On the tire thing, I know you said you read the thread, but I think https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-w...ide-fd-892901/ should answer your question.

It's a long read, but there's a lot in there that's helpful.

Time Attack or wheel to wheel racing?

Reason I ask is my 18x11 +45 work with 295/30-18 Ventus TD fit well front and back on stock body. That 7.77" backspace is the limit front and rear unless you relocate your shocks inward.

But if you are wheel to wheel you might want to go as wide as possible to keep people from passing anyways.

That is from the low offset. The more outer barrel the wheel has the wider the arch the wheel transcribes with steering lock.

18x11 +45 with the same 295 is fine up front.

To the OP-
Read the rules for the racing organization and class you want to race in. Small irreversible changes can put you in a crazy class depending on the racing organization.

Cheers for the replies, and thanks Neil for the photo's-- I did think about chopping aswell but then I'd need to tube frame the front end to mount the front bar/guards etc... May be the only option!

Will be used for pretty much everything, I know I can get a 295 on the front with a high positive offset wheel but It's not a stock bodied car thus trying to figure out offsets and widths to work with a widebody..... Would have been so much easier just to buy a nissan haha
