FD wheel fitment

Hey guys, I'm new to FD wheel fitment and have a few questions. Would 18x8 +37 (all around) SSR professor sp1s fit slightly rolled fenders? If so, what tire sizes could I run? Thanks.

Just got a rx7... trying to find a 17" rim.. ain't easy... would likev to goto 245 50 17 since it would be close enough to the 225 60 16 oem.... most rims are 7.5" width.... +35 mm offset.... I think the wheel is not wide enough ?

245 45 would be better imo for 17".

I had 225 55 16 on stock rims back in the day. If you're going to run 17" on 245 wide tires then I would go 45.

My current setup, though 18" rims, is 235 40 18 and 265 35 18.

Question becomes how wide are you going to run? The stock fd rim is 16x8"

I would not run anything skinner than 8".

FD tires

oh ok,,,
the stock is 225 50 16 on a 16 x 7" rim with +36 offset....

my plan was actually to goto 225 45 17" tire, which are cheap now adays, which keeps same diameter as OEM and I can put it on a 17 x 7.5" rims that are commonly sold with +40 offset....

I did think about 255 40 17, etc but that requires a wheel that is 8.5" to 9" width , which are more $$$ and difficult to find, if not custom made....

what do you guys think ?

Stock FD wheel was 16 x 8 +50 off-set. Stock tire was 225/50/16.

That said, many of us ran 245/45/16 on the stock wheel. I did for years with absolutely no issues and the speedometer is almost unchanged. For a time 245/45/16 were a little hard to come by in a summer performance tire but they seem to have made a bit of a come-back.

If you want to go 17", you can run 255/40/17 on a 9" wide wheel with a +48 off set without issues. And again, that will keep your speedometer VERY close.

I don't remember the offset off the top of my head but I'm running 18x10 in the rear and 18x8.5 up front (God Awful Foose Nitrous wheels) with a slight stretch on the tires. This is on stock suspension so it's lifted up to the sky.

wheel/tires for 94 rx7

ok guys, tnx for the info...
wow, the stock fd rims are 16x8" with +50mm offset ??? and that is holding a 225 50 16 = 24.85" ... hum...

the car I got came with a nonOEM 16" rims and it's wearing 245 45 16 = 24.68".... so, it must be wider than 8" ? may be like a 8.5" ? or even 9"? I should take one off and check .... not sure of the offset though....

the tires are currently hard as a plastic..i'm sliding all over... I am gonna have to just order some same 245 45 16 for now if I can't figure out what 17" rim I can get...

I was hoping to get a 17 x X" rim and put on 245 40 17 = 24.71" ... what width wheel do I need for this tire and what offset ???

I'd rather just get a 17" rim with above tire and be done instead of doing it 'twice'...

please advise... (sorry, I've reread the above answer and good info received... again, if I want to do 245, what rim width ??, offset got it... above 45 I think....)
