FD Vacuum leak?

Hello - 1994 FD RX7, single turbo swapped. I recently replaced the fuel pressure regulator and fuel hoses (diagnosis here: https://www.rx7club.com/general-rota...boost-1171434/). In the process I took off the charge pipe and upper intake manifold. I also replaced a couple vacuum lines that I damaged when removing everything.

During this process I noticed that the IAT sensor was disconnected. I left it disconnected. No idea if that's relevant, but FYI.

I thought I put everything back together, but am now chasing a low idle/stumble and there is some smoke in the engine bay when it's running. Not a ton, but definitely some.

I got a cheap smoke machine off Amazon and seem to have a leak coming from what looks like the center of or underneath of the throttle body. No smoke from anywhere else that I saw.

New FPR is showing ~40lbs at idle with vacuum connected. Aftermarket AFR gauge is showing 11.0.

Any tips or insight would be appreciated!

The iat is a core component of any efi system. Not having it plugged in is a huge problem and it needs to be present, functional and plugged in. What ecu are you using?

It's running on ApexiFC. I guess it's possible I knocked it loose when disassembling?

Plug in the IAT, reset the pfc and do the idle learn process. You need a tuner or you need to contact Xavier borg and get his tuning software.

Where are the oil intake breather tubes venting to? If one or both are just venting to somewhere below the TB, that might be a source of fumes.

Just looked at a car this afternoon with exactly that issue.

Smoke tests will often show some leakage around the throttle body axles (and turbo flap axles). This is a result of normal wear.
