FD Oil Pressure Gauge Inop, Warning Light Works?

Recently picked up a '93 and there's a couple issues with it. My main one being that the oil pressure gauge does not work. The needle never moves, however I have been able to trigger the warning light when the oil level is extremely low. Do they run off the same switch? Common issue? What should I be looking at?

I know on FC's that the oil level and oil pressure have 2 different sensors.
So I assume that the FD would be the same.

That's what I was thinking, thanks.

Swapped senders, works!

Oh and there is an oil level sensor on the motor that controls the warning light.

good job

most senders are a single pin connector. usually if you ground the pin the needle should peg. this tests the rest of the circuit up to the sender. good tip for diagnosing a sender

A little late, but yes, it's a common issue. As you've since figured out, the oil pressure sensor is located just under the oil filter pedestal. Occasionally the sensor goes bad, but just as often it's that single spade connection that gets dirty over time because it's so close to the pedestal. When they get dirtly it typically shows up as little to no indicated oil pressure at idle...because the signal can't get through the dirty connection. If you have no indicated pressure regardless of rpm, then it's the sensor or a broken connection.
The oil level sensor is on the left (driver's side) of the oil pan. No common issues AFAIK.

What is the exact thread for the oil pressure gauge on the block ? I seen it talked about in other topics but a straight answer should be posted for simplicity..
