FD Front Subframe Mounting Studs

A couple of threads are starting to strip off of one of my studs that hold the front subframe to the frame rails. These studs are screwed into permanent inserts inside the frame rails. I can't find a replacement part number in the Mazda parts catalogs, so I'm guessing that this part is not available from Mazda, but I'm hoping it is. Does anyone have a part number? Alternatively, I could just use a generic M12x1.25 stud, but I would like to keep this OEM if at all possible.

Actually, I'm not sure if these studs thread into the frame rails, or if they are pressed in. Looking through the hole in the front of the frame rail, I mistakenly saw the threads of the sway bar bolts and thought they were these studs. Does anyone know if the subframe studs are replaceable? This could potentially be a big problem, but I'm sure many people have stripped these out or had rust issues with them.

the studs come out... all of them. the only thing thats part of the car is the pointy stud and even then i think that one comes out too. but 100% for sure those studs come out. i took mine out and replaced them with bolts. use the double nut method and pull them out.

That's good to hear, thanks.

I'm hoping I can find a Mazda part number. Maybe they used the same studs on other chassis too.

This thread is a few months old now, but I'm bumping it because I'm just now getting around to working on this issue (my car is a big project).

I took this photo to confirm which studs I am referring to. They don't seem to want to come out easily. Before I really put some torque on them, can someone confirm that they are simply threaded into the frame rails? I'm afraid that they might be pressed in (It's difficult to tell with the subframe installed).

Thanks!

Yes, they're tight. Use a lot of gradual force or a impact if you have. You don't want to break them. Use heat and pb blaster if you have to

Sounds good, thanks for the input
