FC3S S4 na EFI to Carb

2 Attachment(s)
Hi all, I'm currently jamming a FC3S into a 1959 Bugeye and am debating the uses of a carb intake system instead of the fuel injection.. Does anyone know the pro's and con of this swap? What would I have to do about the injectors in the block. I'm new to this whole rotary thing but the compact nature of the engine makes it a perfect match for this small bodied car. My main concern with the EFI is the electronic and emission. This car will be exempt, but all the sensors and wiring is challenging. Thanks in advance for and suggestion or advice.

The carburetor will certainly be more simple but you will sacrifice fuel economy, drivability and probably some midrange power.

If you can, then I'd suggest sticking with the EFI system. Assuming you have all the bits, all the ECU needs is 12V and to be connected to it's sensors to function. You will need to set up your own harness for the coils and CAS, or take it from a doner car.

The problem is I don't have all the bits. All I got was the ENGINE, tranny, and 1/2 of the wireharness since the guy who pulled it out was wire cutter and torch happy!

PM Robert at Rotary Shack. He is a sponsor on this site he will help you with the carb stuff he is really good at it :)

Hm, then if you don't want to EFI it (using either an aftermarket or factory setup) then the carb is probably the easiest option if that is what you are familiar with. Racing Beat sells two styles of manifold, one that will let you mount up a Holley style carb, and one that will let you mount up a Weber style carb.

Thanks Adores, I'm pretty pumped about getting it running and on the road for all to see. I'm currently trying to wedge some xeon's in the eye sockets just having a hard time with the huge capacitors.

PC Time I really need a set of side drafts due to clearance issue, do you have a pic of the holley set-up so I can see if it fits?
