Engine won't start
 

Ok so I bought a 1988 Turbo II that was sitting for about 5 yrs. I've been trying to get the engine started I checked the started and the solenoid they work. I then used a jumper wire to check the interlocking switch ( the plug with the Black/Red and Black/Green wires above the clutch) but nothing happened. I just want to know what would be my next step?

I also tested current for the engine fuse but there is none.

Battery has a full charge right? Sometimes this gets underlooked. The battery may seem to be ok running the radio and such, but may need more juice to get the engine started. Also, check for fuel issues (lines, pump, filter, etc.)

The Engine fuse is in the interior fuse box and has 15 amps. Is this where you looked. It cannot start without it, but it can turn over w/o it too. You might want to check to see if the Ignition Switch has power by checking the operability of the wipers or turn signals w/key to on. Does either work? If not then check the Main fuse as it powers the switch.

Ok so here is more info: Battery is new. I cranked engine by using a jumper wire from the positive battery terminal to the small solenoid terminal. In the inner fuse box only the stop light, hazzards and lights have current. I also tried to remove the 80A main fuse from under the hood but would not come out. All other under hood fuses do have current.

The Main fuse is screwed into place thus it doesn't just pull out like its neighboring fuses. The stop light etc are powered by the BTN fuse so your Main fuse or the connection between this fuse and the Ignition Switch might be faulty.

Try replacing the battery cables.

You can test the positive cable by reading the voltage at the starter and then having someone crank the car and watch for a drop. I fought with this on my pickup. I had a good 12ish volts at the starter but when it tried to turn over, it dropped to like 3 volts. I replaced the positive cable and never had another issue.
