Engine Rebuild

Hi obviously im new to fc's and cars in general. Although i have been rebuilding motorcycle engines mostly its quite different as u would imagine from rotary. Anyway right now im taking out the engine and was wondering will the transmition mouts will be able hold the transmition with out in engine in the car?:

Yes the trans mounts can hold, but they are to far back so you will have to support the front of the trans, just take some wire and wire it to the firewall to hold it up.

Im mainly going to be making a daily driver that i want to last, would a mild street port decrease my engine life. Im not looking for alot of hp just a little bit more than stock.
