Engine Fire; is it salvageable?

5 Attachment(s)
A couple months ago I had an engine fire due to what i believe to be a faulty hose. I was just now able to tear into it and see all the damage.

So far I know the entire throttle body assembly will need replaced as well as accelerator cable, both fuel rails and all injectors, and all wiring throughout the area. As you can see once I got under the manifold the damage was horrifying. Do any of you guys think this is salvageable or cost effective?

I bought the car for $1200 and i'd like to not go over that number repairing the damage. What do you guys think?

Certainly it is salvageable.
Depending on where you get parts is the real price factor.

Just an Idea: instead of buying separate parts I would be thinking "blown keg".That way it is complete and you just have to take what you need.I'd opt for that as it may be cheaper than paying for this or that part and shipping etc.
You see blown engines up all the time in the parts section, which by the way is where you should ask for any parts,or the WTB section..(kindly,not this section as it is a tech section only)

^ Definitely a great idea. Buying a blown engine with all the externals on it would provide you everything you need an some. It would not only fit into you budget but you'd have a block to tinker with and learn how to disassemble and potentially assemble an engine. Worst case you can some ell any usable parts that you don't end up needing if you don't care to learn how to rebuild engines.
