ECU location on 1991 N/A S5
 

Hello all i have a 1991 N/A S5. I'm trying to locate the ECU or find out if I have one i followed some wiring but I won't be able to afford a haynes manual until next week. (spent all my money on buying and towing the car to my house)

the ecu is located in the passenger foot-well underneath the carpet,you'll find a big square metal plate being hold by 4 screws IIRC , its right there

why do you need to located the ecu ? having some difficulties somewhere?

thank you, actually I bought a rolling shell that i intend to use for track racing and I'm currently sourcing parts for it so i was trying to see if i had an ecu already on the car and if i had the proper wiring harness that way I could save time and money trying to source these parts

sweet, always nice to have more 7 on track. keep us posted,a build thread maybe,they're really interesting to read , even for slow builder like me

definitely going to start a build thread. I just put one up I'm still deciding if I should go N/A or Tii and if i should do a RHD conversion.

I just got into the car but I was unable to find any ECU and I have a few wires that I don't know what they go to perhaps I can get a bit of help. This is my first big project and my first fc

This is off of the wiring harness I found on the car as you can see one plug is completely melted

this piece plugs into the next picture it also came off the harness

I found this in the car and it connects to the S5 harness that I found with the car

found a few plugs in the car wired to behind the steering wheel column or into the fire wall

this is the passenger side interior I have no signs of an ECU so I am trying to figure out if the wiring in the car currently are S4 or S5

If your gonna use it for track only, rip out all the wireing and rewire for standalone, will make your life 100x easier

I plan to use ot for track mainly but i will street it every one in a while but i would like to enjoy cruising in it through the canyons when i cant afford track days
