CPU problem

I am rebuilding a 89 Coupe that I bought cheep. I am pretty much done, but there is an issue down by the CPU.

The top relay plug of the CPU is no plugged in. Everything works. The only difference when it is plugged in is that warning beeps sound. The problem is when its plugged in the headlights open and stay up no matter what I do to the switches. As soon as I unplug the relay they go down and work normally agian. What could this possibly be?

There also seems to be a spare relay down there that there is no place to plug in, is it the speedometer relay for models with speedometers. In that case I shouldnt worry about it but just curious.

Let's see what the 2ndgen chassis guru's have gotta say....since it's a Saturday, though, it might not be until well into the night before you get some responses.

I looked up the wireing diagram and that relay is for the warning sounds only, so im not sure how it would pop the lights up.

And in a possibly un-related item my temp unit stopped working. I still get backlit buttons, but they do nothing and the selector lights dont show up. weird.

and the train of dumb questions keep coming....!

I looked up the climate control issue so no biggy. Still have the headlight problem with the CPU relay plugged in. Out of curiosity why are there wires running to my lock button and to the lock if i dont have power locks?
