cooling fan stay on

I noticed today my battery has been kind of weak lately and I noticed my cooling fans are staying on for long periods of time even though the car is cool.Any thoughts?

Sorry the car is a 93 rx7!

More info..... I unplugged a black control box and my fans still are on even after the key isn't in the ignition

Back track the fans wiring, might be hard wired to something

There is a factory TSB to add a controller that leaves the fan on after the engine is turned off.
See the section on the "Cooling fan control module".

I'd replace the battery long before removing anything that aids cooling.

yeah I just removed that black box and it stayed on.I just started testing the relays today and one is corroded to hell as someone who owned it previously relocated to the front of the car upside down where it could gather water

problem solved! wiring harness plug corroded to the point voltage was completing circuit.

Glad you sorted it out. If I understood what you were dealing with, it sounded like the old "fan mod". It ran fans for 10 minutes after shut down???? If so, it wasn't a threat to a healthy battery and did no harm... but IMO it was pretty useless. I never really thought it did anything to reduce underhood temps like it was suppose to.
