Cold start problems. Flooding, leakage or something else?
I've had this happen twice before over a 3 month period but this week it happened twice. In the mornings on a "cold start" I get the engine of my 1988 rx7 non-turbo turning over but no starting of the engine. If I let it sit for the day then I maybe able to get it to start it up. A lot of white smoke comes out of the exhaust when this happens.
Is this a gas flooding problem or coolant leakage or something else. The solutions I'm looking for can be temporary. I doubt I'll have the vehicle for more than another 6 months. Thanks for the help. |
Push the accelerator all the way down to wide open throttle and try to start it.

If I get it started there is a gas-like smell not a coolant smell and the white exhaust doesn't happen while driving around. Yesterday evening, I talked to someone at Kragen Auto parts and they thought fuel was dripping down from my injectors so there is problems with my fuel rail. Does that sound right? |
