Clutch has no pressure, weird problem!
 

hey guys, reading on the site here for the past hour but cant find a good description on what might be wrong.. im worried the clutch plate is loose, i took off the slave cylinder and felt where the rod pushes up against the fork and it feels loose and wobbly.. i can move it right left and front and back..

Already replaced the master and the slave and bled many times.. some fluid comes out but not much.. the pedal is still super weak and wont build pressure...

The slave i had to get was from an 85 but it was not much different.. so i replaced that, still no luck, so i went back to the old one.. as well no luck.

Found the connector hose from the slave was cracked and old so i replaced that.
Replaced the slave and master, still no luck..

Any ideas on what i should do? im buying ANOTHER master to try that because i think the last after market master might be faulty.

It would be easier to help you if we knew which make model and year you're referring to but some clutch forks will feel looser than others depending upon your make my FC clutch fork doesn't feel extremely tight yet it's not loose even with the slave attached but if the slave is not releasing fluids when you bleed it may be a bad slave or your out of fluid but if you've gotten this far I'm sure you have fluid let us know

It could be a broken clutch fork like he said, but sometimes it takes ALOT of bleeding to get get the clutch system working

But how you say you can move the fork from side to side makes me wonder if it broke

If you can rig something up to push against the slave cylinder while its off the trans and see if your pedal feels better would give you a good idea

badsvt what do you mean by not releaswing fluids? when i bleed it the nipple still spits fluid but not with much pressure.

When i take the slave off the tranny the cylinder inside moves very slowly when pumping the clutch.

The fork coming out of the tranny on the bell housing there will only move about an inch in each derection, so not sure if thats the problem or not!

Ive heard you need to bleed the master by itself before actually installing it? whats your thoughts on that?

my GFs dad rebuilds these all the time and told me to keep bleeding it and that the master might need to be bled before hand.. I have a new one on the way but i feel that the current one i got from lordco isint doing its job.. maybe leaking fluid back into itself or air or something.. Im not mechanic but im going to get this car fixed haha

Also when i put the master in i ended up moving the switch that tells the car the clutch is in. The white one by the clutch pedal.. im thinking of just bypassing it by holding it down with somthing, but i did move the rod as much as i could that was attached to the clutch pedal and it seems to come in contact now.

The lack of pressure being released at the bleeder screw and lack of pressure force by the slave sounds like quite a bit of air in the line or something physically in the line impeding fluid movement, I would try to gravity bleed the slave and if that doesn't work try a vacuum bleeder, the movement in the clutch fork sounds normal an inch in each direction is not a biggie, I purchased an 86 GXL years ago the previous owner had spliced the clutch safety switch ran the wires beneath the driver seat to a kill switch like on a dirtbike that needed to be depressed in order to bypass the poor man's antitheft system
