Carburator 1979 rx7

I was just wondering if I could get some advice on how too properly tune my carb screws theres one flat head one and bellow it another smaller screw. I think its running too rich cause my eyes seem too burn all the time.

these cars run rich. you should make sure there are no exhaust leaks first - especially near to the engine. it really could be that simple. that said, if the carburetor is clean and in good health, then you basically use the mixture screw to tune the Nikki. if you still have a cat, then you want to leave it a little rich. however, if you have done away with the cat, then i usually go as lean as i can while keeping my throttle response.

do you still have the points distributor? you should do tune your carb with fresh ignition parts. also, keep in mind my description is just basic.

I have a really bad exhaust leak near engine why would that keep the car from running normal or even running at all?

i wasn't saying that the exhaust leak would make the car not run, although it could make it run poorly. i mentioned the exhaust leak because it sounded like your basis for thinking it was running excessively rich was the fact that your eyes burn. i was merely advising you to seal up the exhaust before you go trying to adjust the carburetor.
