Can't find fuel pump fuse to de-flood 85 GSL-SE
 

After reading some forums we're trying to deflood my 85 GSL-SE after failing to run it long enough after taking out of winter storage. We can't find the fuse for the fuel pump to try the first-line method of deflooding. The fuse box doesn't resemble the one in the Haynes manual, and is also unlike the photos I've found on this site (haven't searched every single post, of course.) Can someone suggest next steps? Thanks!!
We found it, by triangulating between a diagram on this site and the photo and the Manual. So far, no go. Afraid to take off the spark plugs, will take it to the dealer.

I do believe you're looking at the wrong fusebox. The EGI fuses should be on the drivers side of the engine bay, under the hood.

They are in a long rectangular receptacle with a cover on the top.

Should be on the driver's side shock tower, unless they were moved.

Thanks very much for your replies. Evidently my 85 has fusible links in the location you're talking about, and not fuses. Is is possible that the fuses under the hood were added for the 86? One of the other posts that included a screen shot turned out to have the correct fuse chart. (Attached). We took out the 20A that sayid "engine", ran the starter motor briefly a bajillion times and the car started (the next day). My Haynes is not correct on the fuse locations, despite saying it covers 79-85. I bought it in 92, when I bought the car. Wondering if there is a more recent edition that has the correct fuse box for the 85. If so, I will look for it. Next step is to try to find the elusive plate behind the driver's seat that everyone is referring to, and run that wire from the fuel pump to the area under the dash. If we can't do that, I'll be pulling 20A every time I want to start the car after a short run. So far, all we've been able to find is a plug in the floor of the car that looks like it was meant to drain out the rain when you leave your sunroof open by mistake.:) No plate, no removable floor covering. Only permanently attached rug and that plug. Will explore some more. (Neither hubby nor I is a mechanic, unlike the many experts I see on this site, though he is an engineer, which helps some, so we do appreciate kind replies on this site.) I love my RX-7, have been repairing it/garaging it/not letting my kids drive it for 25 years.
