Brake upgrade/Swap?
 

I have an 87 FC N/A that I just swapped the Turbo II rear into. I would like to upgrade the brake, but don't want to break the bank. Is there a swap that anyone knows of, or do I just need to buy an aftermarket brake kit?

Does anyone know if it is possible to swap Four pots to the rear brakes? If so, what does it entail?

With the 4 pots on front and the singles on the rear,it is a good Combo.,
IF you go to 4 pot,then you have to have something with MORE braking power in the front.(like 6??)
The Proportioning valve allows about 70 to the front and 30 to the back,so really If you throw 4 pots on,they are gonna be a waste.Also you have to look at the Ebrake setup as it is ON the brakes(single piston calipers).
look at AWRracing,they have Big brake kits for like 1100 bucks.

BIG Brakes ....your 4 piston calipers and rotors,with 5 bolt hubs will bolt right on to your existing front axles,at the rear ,you will have to change the rear hubs too, and just bolt on the 5 bolt rear rotors as well,they are vented, so they can take more heat than the non vented GX rear brake rotors . For your Brake master cyl just install the T11 and proportioning valve as well.If you can use the Turbo brake booster, if you can but, it will also work as well with the smaller 4 bolt GX brake booster you presently have , you just have to apply more foot pressure .....................good luck.................................FP..

It's a little unclear what you are saying. I already have a 5 lug setup all the way around, front and rear.

If you have large brakes, why do you want a bigger brake for street or race? try a larger rotor ,and caliper on the Front I know that you can get larger Brembo parts for an up grade, the trick with larger brakes is to increase the mass on the rotor(bigger ) so they can handle more heat,you could also try different brake pads as well, maybe try a set of Ferodo's
