body"frame" mod worth it?

so, I had this idea to cut out a channel down the center section of the 2 body supports under the car and placing some 1 1/2 dom or chromolly tubing in the channel that I cut out. would this add a substantial amount of strength to the chassis? or would it be worth the time at all? thoughts?

maybe you can elaborate on which series of car would like to do this to..and why.

that might help, 86 fc. my thoughts were it would stiffen the subframe under the body, it would also give me much stronger material to tie in the front and rear subframes to. im a fabricator so I don't believe in buying aftermarket items I can easily fab up myself. just an over all chassis strengthening. I plan to also fab some strut tower braces, front fender area braces probably with 3/4 or 1 inch max tubing. I understand that the bolt on styles can still allow flex and are aesthetic more than anything.

It's been done before and results in a noticeably stiffer chassis.

^Especially I would think on a 23+ yr old car, which may have had some collision history, or might have some corrosion.
