Blue smoke from tail pipe
Last weekend I went to an Autocross event in Fresno, CA and I was driving my car pretty hard. I was told by some people that everytime I accelerated the car blew blue smoke from the tail pipe. I dont know if this is normal or not. It doesnt do it when I drive the car normal. I would appreciate it if I can get some feedback on this issue.

It could be that the car is running a bit rich on acell, which is washing oil from the chambers and causing it to be burned.
Or, the oil control rings are wearing out. |
I have the same problem, however i cannot acellerate on the highway in 5th gear does nothing , also within the 2500-3500 rpm range just boos down

Thanks for the feedback...I appreciate it. I'll definitely look into that.

Usually bad oil control rings will be most noticeable when you let off the gas at high rpms. You can use a quart of Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer in place of 1 quart of oil in the crank case. That should reduce the smoke to acceptable levels and keep you going until you're ready to rebuild the motor. :)
