Best Sounding Exhaust For 94 FD3S
Opinions? I like the sound of the dual tip Racing Beat exhaust with a resonated mid pipe. Just looking for something that will help eliminate turbo lag when I get around to putting the GT35r in her. The exhaust I'm running right now is catted- which I will need to pass emissions in Arizona.

Most of us use the Racing Beat. You may want to check the FAQ thread for links on the topic.

Im really liking my HKS super dragger but it may be a bit loud for some people!
Best sounding is kind of like asking who the hottest woman in the world is...very subjective. If you like the Racing Beat I'm guessing you prefer a "quiet" exhaust?
Gringo's right. Personal taste.
For me....if someone could combine the looks of the RB Dual Tip with the sound and flow of my Greddy SP, I think that would be a perfect match. |
I run tanabe. Low tone sounds deep. My 2 cent.

RE-Amemiya Dolphin Tail Muffler
Second for the RE Dolphin Tail Muffler.
3'' downpipe to a SLP 3'' resonator and isis 3'' dual tip. very loud (essentially a straight pipe) but sounds awesome!
I really like the sound of the Amemiya Dolphin Tail exhaust. But it looks...like a droopy nose. Right now I have some weird custom exhaust (no brand, looks custom made at least)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DzhExe27Pk REALLY bad video quality, and I didn't rev it at all, because I was making the video to show how much condensation was in my exhaust (and asking in a different post if this was a normal amout of water in my exhaust) |
does anyone have experience with the dolphin tail exhaust system from cx racing?
Third for the RE Dolphin Tail Muffler.
I love my n1 Duel very nice sound just a lil loud
I've always been a fan of the hks hi-power. Could be the memories of my first built car could. however its probably because it sounds awesome though.
I personally think HKS exhuast is the best with nearly to no cats.

I personally like the trust exhaust.
Ahaha emissions, if you can't get around that, you might as well sell the car now.
Personally, I have a HKS Downpipe with a Racing Beat single tip cat-back. I love the sound of it, but I have never heard the sound of any other 94 RX7s.
I recently went for a test drive with a Blitz Nur-spec catback equipped car. Quite a bit better sounding in person than videos on youtube (well oviously!). It was loud, but definitely nice.

Forth for the RE Amemiya Dolphin Tail Muffler~
St Mays sounds a lot like the RB twins, but a little louder and (from what I've heard) flows much better. That was on my shopping list until these RBs kinda fell into my lap for cheap.
I ran a Peter Farrell for awhile and it wasn't too droney either. If you want LOUD, go with Apex'i N1 duals and a midpipe. Your neighbors will hate you! St Mays: Peter Farrell: (I recognize that license plate! ;) ) |
IIRC, you'll be trimming something under your bumper with the St May's. And there are variables to consider, cat or no cat, wrapped or no wrap, single vs. twins, etc. And they'll all sound different under load than sitting and idling or just static rev'ing. They'll all sound different from behind the steering wheel too. Just one thread I found in a quick search in the 3rd Gen. Section that might be helpful.........but ultimately it all boils down to personal taste.... https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ddy-sp-992770/ |
