Best battery for relocation in FD
So battery now that I'm going vmount. What do you guys think is the best sealed battery for a gen 3 battery relocation? My car guy says that a civic hybrid battery is sealed and will get the job done, but I've read that the westco is a decent battery too. So I ask my fellow fders what they think. Thanks

My personal opinion is to go with a Deka. I've used the Deka Intimidator for years and it has held up far better than parts store batteries (which are all rebranded generic) and Optima.
More important with a battery location is how it is done. Mounted securely in a box that won't fly apart in a collision, with a circuit breaker as close to the battery as physically possible, thick 0 gauge cables to the engine bay and a good ground to multiple chassis points. |
The 3rd gen fAQ has a link to an excellent write up on this topic:

ive put my battery behind the passender side cabinet great little spot to put it in.

Deka would be what i'd go with also.

I've been using the Odyssey relocated to the storage compartment behind the passenger seat, too, with a circuit breaker alongside. It is strapped down with a small cargo and polished with a black upholstery to match the interior. Here's a pic...

I just bought the Odyssey PC680. Great little battery. Has gotten the job done so far.
