Bbs wheel price?

Trying to find out how much my BBS wheels are worth. Don't have pics yet but here's what I know about them.

Apparently they are OEM for the FD in Japan. I think mines an rs. These bbs are 17"
Getting them restored currently.

Actually, found out they are 93' RZ wheels.
Look just like this

They are currently spray painted over and one wheel is curbed, but getting them restored to its original state.

These are nice. Why are you trying to find value? Are you trying to sell them? If so, Iam very much interested

dk wolf 07-05-12 07:50 PM

Yeah, I want to sell them. But I need to fix them up first.

Does aircraft paint stripper damage these wheels? They were spray painted over (really bad job). Would putting paint stripper on those wheels damage any paint or coating (if there is any) underneath?

misterstyx69 07-05-12 08:17 PM

Yes ..aircraft stripper If used correctly will do just fine.after all it is made for aluminum.!
I actually used it on some Mazda wheels the first year I owned one.I used a product called TAL STRIP.

dk wolf 07-05-12 08:21 PM

but will it remove the original color of the wheel? Or will the OEM colors still show?

I might just do this in that case, save me a hundred bucks at the shop and just pay them to fix one of the curbbed wheels.

Stripper will work. But then you will have to polish the aluminum back up for shine.

marclong 07-05-12 08:52 PM

Will remove any paint or color

dk wolf 07-05-12 09:03 PM

You think these wheels will still sell if they lose the original greyish center color? And it's all just polished looking?

chaos333 07-05-12 09:55 PM

nice

badtzmagu@hotmail.com 07-06-12 06:19 PM

I think they will still sell but not for the same price obviously. Some people look for these in their original state, but I am sure these will look good polished and have no issues selling. I honestly dont think you will be able to save the original paint though if it was painted over :/

If you just fix the curb damage and leave the paint as is, how much would you want for them? curious :)

dk wolf 07-06-12 10:13 PM

well it's hard to keep the paint as is If I plan on fixing the curb damage, one wheel has a large portion of curb rash, and another has a little ding. both are very easy to fix.

depending on what you want, I could either fix the rim with epoxy and then re-spray paint it over with black.

Or dremel the rim so the curbrash is hardly noticable.

And just make me an offer with what you want done via PM.
