apexi or not??

My 1993 efini import just aint running right. A company tells me i should get a apexi ecu and comander because my mods mite be to much for the stock ecu? witch mite make it be cutting the fuel. is having a bigger stock mount intercooler/ straight through exhaust/ hks induction kit and hks dump valve 2 much???? :dunno: Help!!

Fuel cut and/or AFRs are almost 100% tied to the level of boost you run. It is very important that your car have a consistent maximum boost level (no spikes, no upward creep), more important than having a particular ECU.

Others will say that you should upgrade the ECU because mods make the boost level go up, because with stock boost control that will happen. I say that's missing the point entirely - monitor the boost and if it exceeds stock levels or you want to exceed stock levels you can use an aftermarket boost controller to do just that. It's when you go above the stock 10psi that you have to consider ECU, tuning, and fuel mods.

What boost are you getting now? Is your boost control still all stock? You should be topping out at 10psi.

Hi, the problem is i dont have a boost guage. Is it easy to fit one? whats the best make to go for?

Any good boost gauge will work. They're not hard at all, especially mechanical ones. There are two nipples facing the right side of the car coming off of the Upper Intake Manifold. One is simply capped - use that to read the boost.
