APEXI Intake 507-z002 NA 88 rx7 SE

i have an NA 1988 RX7 SE. i bought an Apexi Intake 507 z002

what would i need to have it fit into my car. a new Mass Air Flow Sensor or just an adapter?

If this kit is for the RX-7, it's odd that it did not come with an adapter.

You will need an adapter to connect to the AFM. You can hunt around the wrecking yard for an older BMW with the same AFM, or get one off of eBay as they are sold cheap.

ok so nvm it come with an adapter but it doesnt match up to my AFM. the adapter seems to small to hook up to my rx7. i still have the stock 88 maf. are the s5 or the turbo ii models maf different from mine? also is there any benefit from upgrading to an s5 or turbo ii maf. i am prepping my car for a turbo2 swap so wud it be okay to put in a turbo ii maf and run with it?

The only differences between AFMs is between S4 & S5.

NA and turbo AFMs of the same series are the same shape, but have different spring tensions. Don't stick an S4 TII AFM on your NA engine, as it will change the air / fuel ratio under ALL driving conditions.

S5 AFMs have completely different plugs and are not plug 'n play on S4s.

ok so i figured that the intake is for the s5. is there an adapter i can buy to fix it into an s4 afm?

If it's a 3" opening on the filter, you'll just need a ebay AFM adapter.

Keep in mind, slapping a cone filter on without sealing it off from the rest of the engine bay will just pull hot radiator air. You'll end up with no power gain or even a loss.
