Any DIY Tips on 2JZ swaps?

I'm just curious to know if any of you FD owners have ever done a 2JZ swap on your RX7s by yourself? If so how long did it take you guys and how much did it cost you guys to do it yourself? If I ever have more than 1 RX7, I'd like to do it for reliability purposes and just to feel the difference, but I'd like to do it myself in order to not break the bank and also for the thrill.
I've worked with 2JZs and they're very smooth and despite my love for Supras... I love FDs even more.

there is a Section dedicated to other engine conversions on this forum that will cover this.

Actually there's a V8 Powered RX7 section. You can do a search there and find some mention of them, but probably not a lot of specifics. There's a reason it's a V8 Section. I don't think a 2JZ makes a lot of sense. It's tall, long and heavy. Saw pictures of a 1 or 2JZ swapped FD once. Don't recall a lot of details, but I do remember he couldn't install the hood. And you have to go forced induction to approach the power levels of an NA LS swap. Which continues to add up in both weight, dimensions and money.

Best suggestion would be to look at LSx swaps instead.

It's just curiosity, I can't say the same thing about LS1s because I just can't picture the thought of an RX7 sounding like a muscle car. I'm not taking away from the power that those engines have, it's just that for my taste I wouldn't do it. I've seen videos of LS1 FDs tear up the strip and as fast as they seem that's not what I'd like.
But here is a link of a fitted 2JZ in a FD

I own a rhd rotary and lhd 2j. Don't listen to these people that don't know a damn thing about what they are talking. Fuck an ls swap. So if everyone starts using dildos as shift knobs you will too? I went with the 2j bc there's a handful of people who have done the conversion and done it right. Mine is a 2jzgte/v161/8.8. Looking for around 800 on ethanol. Prolly around 450-500 daily. Best desicion ever. But again I own 2. If I only owned one I would have stayed rotary.

Let's just say I would have enough money to have gone with a 20b and would have had enough for a a spare. i like to do things once. Right. And done. If you have any questions pm me. We made our own frame out of a 20b. I have stock hood clearance. No bumpsteer issues. My engine is low and far back. And will be really close to 50/50. Does it weight alittle more. Yes. But not Enough to mess anything up. At least in my setup.

I mean, I knew it wasn't impossible because I've seen them. I'm just not a fan of muscle in this particular car. Not gonna lie, you pretty much have what I would someday like to have. A rotary and a 2JZ RX7. You're a fucking role model.
And as far as wiring, does the car have any issues? I've heard of some engine swaps that haven't been successful as far as check engine lights going off, codes all over the place, and gauges not working.
