AC won't start
Compressor doesn't engage when I press A/C button from inside. Is there an A/C fuse to check before I jump into diagnosing the A/C compressor or the system's pressure?

welcome to the board. :)
please state what year the car is. that said, it should be quite simple to check if there is a dedicated fuse for the A/C, so i'll leave you to that. assuming that there isn't one, you'll want to start checking for power at the switch and harness that goes to the compressor. if all of those check out fine, then try charging it. the system may just be empty. |
Profile says FC. As diabolical indicated, there's a pressure switch to kill power to the compressor if the system springs a leak. It's needed since compressor lubricant is also lost when that happens and you'd burn up the compressor otherwise. If all else looks good, I'd just take it to a shop to have it diagnosed. Your's is a R12 system and that refrigerant is hard to get and expensive. A shop can charge the system with dye and hopefully pin-point the leak.
