'94 FD Oil Leak Advice

2 Attachment(s)
I've got two oil leaks that I am tracking down. The first one I solved, but mention it because it is a bit of a mystery. After having zero oil leaks, i started to see drips on the garage floor just before storing it for a few years. Last week I finally got under to inspect and found droplets centered on the oil pan. They appeared to be coming from the oil level sensor mount. Worn o-ring I thought, but after removal, found that the o-ring was completely missing! No idea when or where that could have happened.

Anyway, the second leak -I think- is from o-rings on the filter pedestal, but I wanted another set of eyes on this in case someone has seen this same type of leak before and has a different suggestion.

As you can see in the pic, oil is pooling up under the pedestal and filter assembly. I cant see any active oil drips while the engine is running. If I clean the oil off and run the engine, the pool will appear again within hours.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Re: the oil filter area leak, if you're confident that it's not something simple like a bad filter gasket, seems like the 'O' rings would be the next logical suspect.
I replaced mine from a rebuild "kit" of OEM gaskets and rings I bought during a rebuild some years ago. You could probably find them elsewhere, but I'd probably try to get the OEM versions.

Thanks Jim - The filter in the pic is brand new. I replaced it as step one troubleshooting and also made sure that whomever changed the filter last did not leave behind the old filter gasket. I'm confident that the filter-to-pedestal interface is sound, so Ill proceed with ordering new rings.

While mine hadn't leaked, now that I think about it they were found to be pretty flattened during tear-down.
