hi I did some work on my alternator today and I managed to break the positive wire that’s on the 2 pin plug now I’ve rewired the plug using some 5amp cable that I had laying around before I drive the car or do anything Will it be ok? I’ve only used about 4inches of cable to re-connect it to the original wire just checking to see if that will be ok or if I need to put in a higher amp age wire before I drive it

It should be fine temporarily, but I would recommend connecting it more securely. Either use crimps or solder and heat-shrink the joint. This might work for now, and the wire should be thick enough, but if they are just twisted and taped (or soldered and taped) moisture can work it's way in there and cause it to corrode.

I managed to re wire the plug last night and Connect new wire to the original loom using a large connector block then heat shrinks it all so it was secure everything seemed to be ok I have Power to everything and no warning lights and just for future is it possible to remove the plug and just use some insulated female spade connectors as my original plug was cracked
