86 na hesitation, tps, ground, ports or other?

Ok so i picked up this car tuesday, failed emissions terribly with hc at 990 ppm instead of 200..
it idles at 1k instead of 750 wasnt to worried, exhaust smelt like gas a little and figuted it just wasnt igniting and burning all so nee plugs and wires, also had the 3800 studder but most the time giving it gas after some jerks it would climb to redline fine.. well after failing emissions (thats when the new plugs and wires went in) i went in after the infamous "3800" i wirebrushed and sanded the following grounds: driver strut tower/fender inwire ground from bat, coilpack (closest to windshield) all metal sufaces and ground, the white "plug to nothing* ground right underneith it all surfaces or it, and then th3 ground right below the vin stamped on the firewall on passenger side.. after starting her up spunded fine and took car for drivr last night and to gas station to get air in tires..

hesitation is now far more pronounced.. in nuetral or clutch in will rev to redline no problem.. 2nd gear around 5k it bucks and every gear after that it kind of picks and chooses when it wants to studder.. or just not fire (sometimes exhaust just repeatedly gurgles and spits NOOOT BACKFIRE OR SHOOTGLAMES*) most the time @3k or 3800 it will studder and etc, most the time after being persistant with gas it will get past it,sometimes you just have to pump, sometimes then it even wont.. most the time when it does get padt it around 3800 or 4000 it frels like you hit boost and acc just fine its na but you feel the jump in powrr.. port opening or secondaries kicking on ?

Well after the teat drive of my work i adjusted tps immediatly with ohm meter and got to 1k ohms (yhe screw was almost completly unscrewed to do it) but full throttle will only read 3.8-3.9k... (tpa bad?) Then messed with idle a lil after starting it again because it was choking and spuddering at 500k now..

So no idle is rougher than was and im not sure what to do.. adjust idle then tps.. or time, idle, tps?..

also i know the ecu ground and tranny top bellhousing ground.. but lookiny i couldnt see either.. any one have pics of them with intake still on? I know i cant reach but want to check how faulty they look.. also ground near driverside enginemount? Found it and can visually see raw wire just going to metal bracket prolly not good..

inside clock is visible and works, but throughout the testdrivr last night it would dim and bright and dim to off to working and act up, but not timed with studders or hesitations or anything else if it helps..

iv been trying to research but not to much luck.. car has everything and rmissions fully i believe just ps pump taken off by prev owner.. any help appreciated i think i have enough info covered?

if need any more info or pics let me know? And sorry for spelling but in a rush and doing it from my fone x.x thanks -blake

What white plug did you ground (location and wires in the plug)? And what motivated you to ground it?

The engine ground is on top of the engine itself and to check means removing the UIM. Or you could locate the ground on the Pressure/Boost sensor and tap into it and ground the other end to the engine block. Doing this solves most of the 3800 rpm hesitation problems.

Set the Red/Green wire of the TPS to 1 volt w/key to on and after the engine is as hot as it can possibly get (20 minute drive will suffice).

Ok so i am currently at work so cant tell you the wire colors right now, but it is the white plug, where all the wires plugging into go into a 5 or 6 prong metal plate that just goes to a bolt in the chassis, i just cleaned up the connection. It is located under the coilpack closest to windshield NOT THE BATTERY sorry at work cant remember t or l off the top of my head.. but just sitting there underneith it.. i have not added any extra wire to ground yet, just sand..

i have been searching the fsm and threads and eveeyone talks about grounding the pressure sensor better, my problem is that i dont know what or where it is.. fsm doesnt help, doesnt have picture kind of just assumes you know or i guess was mentioned in a prior section.. does any onr have pics or can walk me to it?

and i have adjusted the tps like it but now my idle is 500rpm and dieing.. to adjust idle without tps getting in the way do i unplug the tps then set idle?

The FSM has illustrations of all sensors. It has a vacuum hose connected to it and has 4 wires to it (B/W, Br/W, Br/R and Black) and it is bolted to the passenger fender and it is rectangular in shape.

You do not set idle by unplugging the TPS. The BAC should prevent the idle speed from dropping below 750 rpm so it is either missing or not working or.... There is also an idle adjust screw on top of the engine in addition to the variable resistor to set the fuel mixture for idling (near the pressure sensor- has a screw in a small tube bolted to a triangular base w/a R for rich and L for lean setting on it).
