86 FC N/A no start, aftermarket starter
 

Hey guys, I'm really struggling to get my FC that I recently bought started. The seller mentioned that the timing is off and the engine might be flooded. I've tried the "3 step" deflooding procedure as well as the changed the battery, since it needed to be changed.
After the battery change, I tried the deflood again, still to no avail. Now a few days later the electrics won't even start, battery is completely dead. There's this weird red wire that comes out of the driver side near the starter motor and straight to the positive battery terminal. It has an aftermarket push start button which I'm assuming that red wire is. The push start button works even when the key is out of the ignition so I'm assuming it's draining the battery.

An incorrectly set timing in itself could cause the car not to start. You're going to have to get a better grasp of the push start system you have or bypass it altogether. You can conduct a simple amperage drain test to see what is behind the battery drain. A google search of how to do this test will get you going in the right direction.

So I managed to charge the battery and stop the drain, at least for now. The engine still cranks, but doesn't turn over. I'm not entirely sure how to adjust the timing on a car that won't start. I've got a simple inductive timing light and I found the CAS, but I'm not sure what to do with it yet
