79' steering column wiggle (pic)

So i picked up this "project car", its gutted, almost too gutted in some spots. I've come across a few things that dont have the answer to. This is a shot of what i have in my car. The shaft just wiggles around in this column. What am i missing to make this not happen? is there some sort of collor or something? I cant find any good images of what its suppose to be like.

Awesome site! Thanks a lot. That should help with a lot of my questions of "what goes there...?" Haha

The fix that I went with was to source a bearing that fit the steering shaft. The outer diameter was just slightly large for the tube, (it was the closest size match I could find), so I used a socket to stretch the tube a little. Then I had to clearance the inside of the plastic turn signal assembly just slightly to get it to slide on. The nylon bushing is simpler, but I won't ever need to replace the bearing again. and it turns oh so smooth.
