79 rx7 electrical external volt regulator and fusible links.
1.so wondering what the volt regulator controls. and use to sounds like clicking when hooking positive battery up but not anymore?
2.what does the fusible links under steer column control new too working on cars |
same car sorta same questions..
The voltage reg is to simply maintain a constant voltage level through the charging system..the fuses under my steering colum are from top to bottom, left then right: hazard/air con 15A, park lights 10A, siggy lighter/clock, Horn/stop 15A, defog 15A, wiper washer 10A, air con fan/radio 20A, Meter/turn 10A, voltage regulator 10A, engine 10A. My question is does anyone know the trouble with swapping out the old original 12a with a series 5 engine and g/box? Staying n/a for now but ive been told the old alt the car had was external volt reg..how hard is it to slam a internal reg altenator in its place? Courious as im doing a swap and this may be the challenge..

Alternator
There are many alternators on the market that only require the single live all the time power wire everything else is done internally . Delco alternators are very nice to work on and are quite robust . you will just need to find something that will line up proper with sufficient output to keep things charged well .. Someone can probably give you a few options .
