6 port 12a

I'm rebuilding a 6 port 12a and I'm having trouble finding an intake manifold. Are there any good (and not to expensive) aftermarket manifolds, or should I keep trying to find a stock manifold?

As the 6 port 12A was basically Japan only, you're going to have a hard time finding anything around North America.

like aaron said...your going to have a hard time finding one...there are no after market ones made...unless he/she go with a one off custom...good luck though

This just keeps getting better and better. How does one go about ordering from Japan?

wow a 6 port 12a. i keep hearing about new engines every day... how many types of rotary engines were built. i guess starting from the 10a(im talking about dual rotors not 1 or 3+ just 2).

Get a hold of circuit Theory here on the forum or japan2La they may be able to help you...I know circuit theory is based out of japan and is always getting weird ends and odds.

Also ebay is another route...they have the reg. US ebay then they have japan ebay...so that is also another place to check

I found an intake. It looks like someone took a dremel to the top of it. It doesn't look right, but I don't really know. Can anyone verify if this thing will work? Sorry about the fuzzy pics, I did them in a hurry

Can't say for sure if the intake was dremeled or not. The intake is missing the ACV and the 6-port actuators, unless you took them off. I don't know if the 13B actuators would work or not. PM Jeff20B, he's the only other person that I know of in the States that has a 6-port 12A. He may be able to send you reference pics fo comparission.

Good score on the mani, I think the 6-port 12A was sold in England also. They had a black air cleaner and the lid said Mazda 6-port 12A, iirc.

I'd be tempted to modify a GSL-SE lower by taking 10mm out from between each pair of runners. You could honestly run it through a band saw, offset by 10mm, do it again, and repeat. You could then reshape the newly-exposed runners with a dremel, using some putty to transfer the shape of the runners to the material on the other side. Once it's all said and done, patch it up with some JB-Weld. If it looks nasty, paint it. You could even run it with the GSL-SE EFI hardware and slightly smaller injectors, or put a RB side-draft manifold on it.

If I had a spare GSL-SE lower and some time, I'd try it now just for fun.

I took the ACV off because I'm not going to have any emissions. I might have the actuators for the aux. ports, I'll have to dig around in the garage to see if I can find them. The actuator for the choke plate was broken completely off and the choke plate was locked. Fortunately I have a spare 4 port manifold that has the choke plate actuator.

I want to sandblast the gasket off, is there anything that I need to be careful of? And I'm going to need to plane the top of the manifold.
