You can try your hand at a used one in the Classifieds after you get the required 10 posts if you wish.
I have had numerous coupes and around here they will snap off antennas,so I just get the little rubber ones from Walmart.
Cheap and easy.
I have a usb stick with all my music on it anyways so I don't use the radio much.

Thanks for the info.

I will try that. The antenna from ebay said it would fit my car. When I tried to install it, it was completely different.

What about non powered antennae?

non power

How would you get that to work, if your original antenna was powered?

you are overthinking here.
The "power antenna" is the retractable motorized antenna.
It gets a 12v signal from the unit and it pops up..

If you replace with a stationary unit, the old stock antenna and motor is pulled out, disconnected from power and coax.
the new stationary antenna just gets the coaxial feed(no need for 12v) and you are done.

That rubber antenna I mentioned is just mounted onto the car in the old location and hooked up to the antenna wiring(coax feed).

Auto store or online

I will try the local auto store. However, when I have tried to get standard parts before, they look at me with blank stares when I tell them it's for a 88 RX7 Convertible! :-)

Ugh that's ugly .

Mine got stuck up so I had loosen the nut on top and pull the motor out to realize the cable snapped. So I cut the rest of the cable and now it's a manual - power antenna ... Sort of.

Also while it was stuck up it got in the way of my Sport Duckbill.

Was it an OEM Mazda antenna?
What was the part number?
