1986 rx 7 turbo $1500 is it a good deal
ok i have own 2 rx 7 i sold both on then i like the car and i found one a 1986 rx 7 it a turbo 5 speed with 130000 miles on it and the guy oonly want $1500 but there a catch that why it so cheap the problem with it that he said is that aftering driving for a few miles it start to loss power and will go deal he said you can start it back but you have to pull out the enjector and wipe it off or something like that he said that he been told it a leaky enjector that flood the engine that why it go deal anyone ever hear of such a problem i would like to get this car but i dont know much about roarty engine and i dont want to get it and then can't fit it so what you think is it a big problem ? and is this a deal for $1500 it seem there very hard to find even a turbo and alot people want alot money for the turbo !!!!!! so should i get it or not :Wconfused

turbo 2's started in 87 so i would wonder...but from my experience in buying 2 used 7's, high milage + low price=rebuild/restore

Yes, there was no Turbo II until 87. You also have to realize that this is a 22 year old car so an engine swap and god knows what else is entirely possible.

this could be a leaky injector but it would flood on start up. I would say get a na non turbo engine. I turbo engine is harder to work on and they have problems a lot. I would say get a nice na and learn about it. I can beat high mileage turbo 2s with mystreetported na

TII's did start in 87 and swapping from TII to NA is the craziest idea I have seen in a while.

well thanks for the info i wanted one with a turbo with a stock one that no one ever did anything too they so hard to find and when you find then they want alot money for then

T2 swap or not its still got problems. My friend paid 4k for his and didnt know anything about it...now hes selling it to me for 2500 lol. they are way more complicated than na's. if you really want the car then get it but you better be in for a long haul :)

I have to agree with AreExSeven, you should carefully consider your resources and who will be doing the work on your car, or it will more than likely be a 'long haul'. I really don't mean to discourage you, but my personal experience has taught me that it is ten times as hard to find knowledgeable mechanics to work on rotary powered cars than on regular piston motor cars.

Either that guys an idiot and thats a steal or he knows what hes doing and that cars going to end up nothing but an unfinished project and massive headaches and frustration. Not to mention lots of money and time spent for nothing. think about it before you spend your money. You could always save up and hold off till you find something nicer. Trust me thats usually the best idea when your unexperienced with heavy mechanical work on Rx-7s.

I'd pick it up, rebuilds arent too expensive, as long as the shell is worthy of the motor.
