1985 RX7 12A, Have ECM or not

I have looked in the Repair Manuals (after market not Mazda) to try and find reference to and location of any ECM that my 1985 RX7 12A might have. If only the GSL-SE 13B motored cars have one and I would not on my car please let me know. If I do have one where would I locate it, inside car under dash, or in Engine compartment? Please advise.

TIA
Chris D.

The first gen ECM is on the passenger footwell under a plate/cover. Remove the passenger side threshold cover, kick panel, and then pull back the carpet.

The only thing under the bin area are amps (where equipped), cruise control module (where equipped) , and fuel pump connector.

Okay, thanks for the clarification of the locale. Probably never would have gone to there to locate it. I am actually pulling this from a parts car (1985 like mine) as simply a backup should I ever need it, before this car gets crushed in a locale closing. Probably if you were to ever need one it would be pretty hard to come by via any Auto Parts source, including Mazda directly. My car only has 83,250 miles on the clock, but issues can develop at any time for any reason, so I like to have options whenever I can procure them.

Thanks,
cdemsky
