12A Horsepower with addons?

I wanna know how much horsepower I am pushing with a Racing Beat Intake and Holley 600CFM Carb?

and how much more can I get with a Turbo charger. T3 turbo?
I ripped all the emissions crap out.

A stock 12A pushes 105hp Stock.

A dyno is the only way to know how much power your engine makes. Other than that you can find other's dyno sheets and compare your setup.

Your question about turbos is vague. T3 is just a flange; it doesn't specify the size of the turbo at all. Power levels for different turbos vary greatly.

RB claims 25% increase with their carb AND exhaust system, but don't know how true that is. the 600 is too much for the stock 12a. the setup they offer for that engine is only 465cfm. just upgrading the carb and exhaust, u might get like 150 or so at the wheels. turbo on high comp rotors u'll only be able to run maybe 5-8 psi, and u wont get more than 200 at the wheels. if u want to go turbo, the engine needs to be built for it. how much power r u looking for and this will greatly depend on ur budget.

I got all the pieces to make it a turbo, But i've heard that as long as I can keep the engine as Cool as possible that I can turbo it to just about 8 psi. True? or What?
The turbo size is: A/R .50 intake side and exhaust side: A/R .63

Its got a 3 line Aluminum Radiator with Dual Fans and Front Mount Oil Cooler.
Im not looking for anything special, since its a daily driver car that I will be using it as.
right now what it has is: Racing beat Intake, Holley 600cfm, Holley fuel pump (7psi)with regulator, MSD SS blaster Coils and MSD BOX(multiple spark in any RPM) and also a Racing beat header.

If you didnt know, this engine is not on an Rx7. Its on my 1980 Datsun 210. I've stripped my rx7 completely and moved everything to the datsun. It also has an LSD 4.10 Rear End from a GSl-SE.

What Stage Clutch Should I run with this setup?

I was maybe thinking just a 2nd Stage Centerforce Clutch Kit.

rxtasy3 04-22-10 04:36 PM

8 psi is bout all u'll be able to run. all tho cooling is one thing, it's running boost on high compression rotors that's the bigger issue. that's why u wont be able to run alot of boost.

Datto-RE 04-22-10 10:30 PM

So with all that said about how much HP can I get with my 12A with:
Hollay 600cfm,Holley Fuel Pump(7 psi), MSD SS blaster Coil and MSD Box, Racing Beat Intake, and Hopefully a turbo set at 8 psi for boost.

rxtasy3 04-22-10 11:51 PM

how much hp r u wanting then maybe we can suggest what u'll need to reach it?

Compressor & turbine A/R tell you a little bit, but mostly just that you have a really small hot side. A T3 frame 0.63 is much smaller than anything anyone would run on an 13B, and I can't see a 12A being that different. For most rotaries, something like a 0.84 housing is considered small. The stock turbo on a TII (Hitachi HT-18) is even 1.0 A/R on the hot side. This partly tells you where the turbo will start to choke the engine, and how quickly it will spool up. In other words, with a small turbine housing, the power band would start lower, but fall off dramatically as you approach redline.

The other (bigger) part of the picture is the compressor & turbine wheel size. This will determine the efficiency of the turbo at various boost and airflow levels. If you remove the housings, you can measure inducer/exducer size, then compare the numbers with this chart: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/TURBO/tmodels.html. Figure out what turbo you have from the list, then go from there.

Popular turbo compressor maps are shown on this page: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/TURBO/compmap.html. Again, this info is geared towards a 13B, so 12A airflow should be slightly lower.

Datto- Your conception of how turbos add to an engine is far to simplistic, but it sounds like you have some skill, so you should be able to handle researching what your engine needs.

The truth is the answer to your question is far to intricate to cover in one thread. You should set a goal and we'll help you achieve it.

Are you sure you want to mess with all the extra work/hassle of a turbo? especially on a carb'd set up? You've already gotten advice on the carb to use and you seem to have ignored it.

If I can reach up to 200HP then i will be satisfied. Seeing that my car weights only 2000 lbs, I know that it will move fairly quick with that amount.

Well before I even add a turbo to it, first I will try it out as it is and see where that takes me.

Thanks for ur help you guys,
